GROW WITH US AT BRUMAR
As the 2025 year comes to an end, we reflect on what has been a rewarding and impactful year for Brumar Engineering. This year was filled with staff changes, new growth, and building client relationships. Here’s a highlight reel of what happened this year.
One of our key CAD designers, Randy Richardson, retired gracefully from our ranks this year. Randy was an integral part of our team. He brought a deep understanding of AutoCAD and a capability of drafting complex plans for many of our projects. If anyone ever had a question about AutoCAD or drawing standards, he was the man to ask! On top of that, he brought a great disposition to the office and was a mentor to many of the staff. He now enjoys playing in his band, hitting the golf course, and spending time with his wife and kids. We wish Randy all the best in his retirement. Congratulations Randy! We will miss you.

This year, we also welcomed Sean Mannelly to our team. Sean brings a solid background of mechanical design and drafting, having worked previously at TMP and Walter Fedy. He has been a pivotal member of our team by spearheading our Revit capabilities. Sean has already built strong relationships with the other engineers and staff at our office. We look forward to seeing him continue to strengthen our team through his expertise!

This year, Brumar was able to showcase our Revit capabilities on the design of a 3-story academic institution. Limited mechanical space, driven by the proposed architectural layout and reinforced concrete structure, required precise coordination. By modelling HVAC and plumbing systems in 3D using Revit and integrating architectural, structural, and interior elements, we identified and resolved conflicts early. This improved drawing clarity, reduced change orders and minimized costly construction delays.

One of the key projects we worked on this year was the Rosenau Transport facility in Vaughan. The challenge was designing an OBC-compliant HVAC system for a 400,000-square-foot logistics facility with extensive forklift and Sprinter van traffic inside the warehouse. Our solution was a zoned ventilation approach consisting of 16 vehicle exhaust zones, each was equipped with an air make-up unit, exhaust fans, and a gas detection system. The system delivers up to 100,000 cubic feet of air per minute and is highly energy efficient, activating only the zones with active vehicle traffic—similar to motion-activated lighting in a warehouse.
